      Hi 🙂

      All horse-like animals are called ‘Equines’ – this is the name given to the whole group. In this group there are 6 separate species. Three of these species are types of zebra. Two are types of ‘wild ass’ and the final group are horses as we know them.

      Most different species of wild horses have become extinct (this means they no longer exist). The only species of wild horse left is called Przewalski’s horse. They are very small horses that live in Mongolia.

      So there aren’t really many different types of horse out there at all… mainly just zebras and the horse that we know here in England!
