• Question: If a dog had Cancer could you solve it or would you have to put it down.?

      Very good question!

      We can treat some dogs that have cancer. If the cancer was only in one place that we could remove using surgery then the dog might recover (if we can get rid of all the cancer cells). We can also use things called Chemotherapy and radiotherapy to treat cancer. Chemotherapy is when we give chemicals to the dog that kill cancer cells. Radiotherapy is where we use radiation to kill cancer cells. Unfortunately neither of these methods work particularly well.

      Normally we can make the dog better for a short period of time, but most end up being put to sleep eventually. How long they will survive for depends on the type of cancer and where abouts in the body it is.
