      First of all here is some muscle tissue, as it looks down a microscope:

      The dark spots are the nuclei of the cells, this is brain of the cell, it’s where the DNA is kept (the information telling the cell how to behave.

      It is different to muscle tissue as the cells aren’t long and thin and it doesn’t need to contract and relax in the same way

      Notice how there is a large body to each cell with spindly arms coming out of it. These arms are how the cells communicate and pass messages around the body!
