      My oddest day, hmm!

One night I put some test tubes in a machine to let a reaction happen over night.

I turned up the next day and one of them was missing, I was sure I had put it in as well. Later on I looked at the machine and the test tube was stuck to the lid and I hadn’t seen it – that was an odd moment!

That’s a difficult one ehodge1, I once had to work until 2am to get some essential results (when I was doing my PhD…I’m sure Zach can relate!). It was really strange being in the lab on my own with no lights on anywhere else. Usually the lab is hustling and bustling with loads of people so it was odd with it being so quiet. I just played music really loud and ended up singing and along to Abba at the top of my voice (we had a thing in my lab for playing throwback music…cause it meant everyone couldn’t help but start singing!)

The oddest day at work… it might be when we had snow last year, I was working in practice that day and none of my clients could get in to see me! So I just sat in the vet practice all day doing nothing with no animals to see… it was very boring!

I have a day in The lab every so often with my group where we stop doing our normal experiments and try some really crazy ones. We split up unto teams and try and get as much to work in one hectic day as we can. That can be really fun to work together like that, but it’s really busy trying all these weird experiments in case one works and we can then work on it in the future! We also usually go out for dinner or something else fun on these days.
