      Hi Amber,

This morning I gave some cells a dose of radiation and some other cells some drugs – to see how they react to these types of treatment.

Later on this afternoon I will be taking some genetic information out of some cells to see the difference between one group and another group.

I am doing all this to try and understand how a change in DNA (genetic information – the instructions that tell cells how to behave) leads to some cancer cells surviving treatment with drugs!

      Hi ambert2003,
today I’ve had lots of meetings so I haven’t been able to do much lab work, Iā€™m writing an application for money to continue my work, talking with scientists in London and having meetings with experts in technology protection…I think I’m onto something new and its exciting

      Hi šŸ™‚

Today my plan is to answer some questions on here first. Then I’m going to do some data analysis on my laptop. I did some interviews recently, so I am trying to understand what the people told me in those interviews and what they meant. I use something called ‘Thematic analysis’ which is just a way of looking at data and finding patterns in it.

Then I am teaching first year vet students this afternoon. After I’ve finished with them, I will probably do some reading, as it’s important for scientists to keep up to date with the latest research in their area.
